Our Process
*This is our process for a complete collection program and will differ from individual services.
*We offer individual services to clients that do not require a full collection.
1. Consultation
During the initial consultation we will discuss your vision & concept for the collection, obtaining all of the essential & technical details necessary to begin product development.
We also want to learn about your brand in order to create products that fit within the story of your identity.
We work closely with our clients throughout the entire process, ensuring the final product is your vision realized.
2. Technical Design & Product Development
After our initial consultation we begin developing the technical designs for your collection including :
Technical Illustrations & Design
Technical Garment Information (Tech Pack Details)
Product Packaging, Neck & Care Labels, Hang Tag, & Trim Design
Graphic Artwork & Embellishment Design
Graphic & Embellishment Placement Mockups
+ More
3. Sample Pattern Development
Once we have finished developing the technical designs for the collection, we create digital sewing patterns crafted specifically for the designated sample size to be included in the factory presentation.
The reason for this is to ensure that you as the brand own and retain this essential information and not the factory that creates them.
This streamlines the process for much faster sample development both in initial production, as well as future productions.
4. Production Placement
At this stage we have all of the essential & technical details necessary to move forward with production quotes.
During this time we will discuss where and why for production placement, ensuring optimal price point & quality for your specific collection.
As an option, we can also offer multiple quotes, from multiple factories that we deem an appropriate fit for your collection, resulting in optimal cost per unit manufacturing.
One size does not fit all when it comes to finding the right manufacturer for a collection.
Many factors influence the decision of where to produce your collection, including :
MOQ
Garment Style
Fabric Type
Country of Origin Preference
Production Cost
Taxes, Duties & Shipping
As the brand, it is your final decision as to where you feel confident producing your collection, however we will be able to help guide you in the right direction based on the above factors.
5. Sample Production
Once we have together decided on the optimal production partner for your collection, payment will be made for the sample order & production will begin for your first fit & quality samples of the collection.
Remember : Even when working with the best factories, it is highly likely that each garment will require at least 2-4 physical samples [sometimes more] to reach perfection, especially if your goal is the highest quality possible & attention to detail.
A key consideration to note about our service is that we do NOT profit from sample production or full line production, meaning we do NOT make money from the cost of physical production, and therefore have no incentive to intentionally create mistakes in order increase the need for [costly] unnecessary rounds of samples.
Due to our unlimited alterations policy included only in the complete collection program, the more sample rounds we do, the more it costs us in time and resources to continue technical design alterations of the garments & factory communications.
Our goal is to always put the client first in every way and aim for perfection as early in the process as possible, but please consider this as one of the most tedious & time consuming portions of the program.
Patience is key when perfection is the goal.
6. Sample Consultation & Alterations
After you have received the sample order, you as the brand will conduct your fitting and take note of things that you would like to be changed and communicate this to us over a consultation & email.
If the first sample is perfect [rare] you can approve for production.
If there are things that you do not like or want changed about the fit or design [likely], we will make the necessary alterations to the design & resend the updated information to the factory for a second round of sampling.
This process will continue until you approve all samples for production.
7. Sample Approval & Pattern Grading
Once you have approved all of the samples for production, we will size grade the patterns based upon the approved sample patterns spec.
A common mistake within the industry is having patterns graded before the sample size is approved, this typically results in brands having to pay multiple times to have patters re-graded or worse, moving to production using out of spec graded patterns.
These kinds of costly mistakes are why we created our specific order of streamlined steps throughout the process, saving our clients time & money.
8. Full Collection Production
The last step of the production process is manufacturing of the full collection based upon all approved sample versions.
We utilize the best production partners in the world, who also work for established & big name brands.
When we work with less established startup brands, we always advise working with low minimums [MOQ] to reduce the risk of overstocking inventory and financial debt,
which will also help to speed up the time it takes for production & time to market.
10. Delivery
Once production is finished we arrange for shipment directly to your warehouse or work space.
It is then your responsibility to inspect all garments within 7 days of delivery to report issues or discrepancies.
Any issues found will be returned to the factory and replaced or refunded for the amount it cost to produce.
This should not be an issue most of the time as we offer a very high quality supply chain which include rigorous in house quality control, however take into consideration that even the best factories make mistakes, especially in the industry of crafting textiles.
